Kumi Construction Management Corporation is seeking a full-time Construction Cost Estimator to assist in the preparation of cost estimates for our clients in the Baltimore and Washington, DC Metropolitan areas. This position will report directly to the Chief Estimator.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Perform quantity take-offs from plans using on-screen take-off software
- Prepare cost estimates at all design submission levels
- Communicate with client regarding project document clarifications
- Request for price quotes from manufacturers, suppliers and other vendors
- Create conceptual and detailed cost estimates
- Follow-up on bid status
- Other duties and requirements as directed by supervisor
Skills/Requirements:
- Strong mathematical, computer, organization and communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in construction, engineering, quantity surveying or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the employ of a construction consulting firm or a construction contractor
- Experience using electronic quantity take-off software
- Experience using Microsoft Office products and estimating software
- Attention to detail
- Time Management
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others

COORDINATION
KUMI will coordinate with the design team from conceptual, design development and construction document phases by way of preparing various levels of cost estimates that fall within the established budget.
