CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

Kumi Construction Management Corp. is seeking a highly motivated Construction Inspector to provide inspection services in Harford County, Maryland and the District of Columbia, with a strong background in pre-cast concrete construction and field inspection. This role involves inspecting construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes.

Minimum Qualifications

·        High school diploma or GED

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) industry

·        Demonstrated experience working with pre-cast concrete systems

·        Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts

·        Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

·        Concrete Technician certification (ACI or equivalent)

·        Experience inspecting municipal, water, transportation, or public infrastructure projects

·        Familiarity with Maryland construction standards and practices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·        Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements

·        Monitor installation of pre-cast concrete elements, including quality, alignment, and placement

·        Document daily construction activities, quantities, and materials used

·        Identify and report non-conforming work and assist with resolution in coordination with project engineers and contractors

·        Verify materials and workmanship meet project standards and approved submittals

·        Ensure compliance with safety regulations and project-specific requirements

·        Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and County staff

·        Prepare clear and accurate inspection reports and field documentation

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·        Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and inspection practices

·        Knowledge of concrete testing procedures and quality control standards

·        Ability to perform field inspections in varying weather and site conditions

·        Attention to detail and strong documentation skills

·        Effective verbal and written communication skills
